What Is SET Opportunity Day? Where to Watch Past Sessions and How It Differs From a 56-1
Opportunity Day is the Stock Exchange of Thailand's quarterly event where listed-company management presents results and answers analysts' questions live; the recordings are public and free. Where to watch them, what they carry that filings do not, and how far to trust an AI transcript.
Opportunity Day is a quarterly event hosted by the Stock Exchange of Thailand where listed-company management presents results and then answers analysts' questions live. The recordings are public and free; a session runs an hour or more.
It now runs through the Exchange's Listed Company Presentation portal, which publishes the recording and the deck for each session. Besides company sessions, the Exchange also hosts group seminars run by the analyst association, presented by sector rather than by issuer.
What it carries that a 56-1 does not
| Form 56-1 One Report | Opportunity Day | |
|---|---|---|
| Form | Drafted, reviewed, signed | Management speaking live, answering in the room |
| Unwelcome questions | Need not be answered | Asked to their face, on the record |
| Figures or guidance outside documents | None | Sometimes — and in no document |
| Frequency | Annual | Quarterly |
None of what is said reaches the filing. It is not misconduct; it is the difference between a document and a conversation. Public, free, quarterly, held by nearly every listed company — and read by almost nobody.
How far to trust a transcript
- Thai financial speech is hard for speech recognition. Ticker names, accounting terms and numeric units are the failure modes, in that order — "9,200 million baht" can come back as "9,200 baht" with perfect confidence.
- A transcript is a lead, not a citation. Treat a passage as "go listen to this minute".
- Check spoken figures against the deck published for the same session.
Searching every session at once
Measured on 21 September 2026 against the rolling four-year window: 5,755 sessions, 5,480 eligible, 5,475 transcribed (99.9% of eligible). Sessions with nothing to cross-reference are skipped — trusts that file a 56-REIT instead of a Form 56-1, group seminars, and recent listings.
Boom Leverage Terminal searches those transcripts by meaning and opens the recording at the minute management said it. More in The Thai Earnings Call Nobody Reads.
Frequently asked
What happens at a SET Opportunity Day session?+
A quarterly event hosted by the Stock Exchange of Thailand where listed-company management presents results and then answers analysts' questions live. The recordings are published and anyone can watch them.
Where can I watch past Opportunity Day sessions?+
Free, on the Stock Exchange of Thailand's Listed Company Presentation portal (listed-company-presentation.setgroup.or.th), which publishes the recordings and the presentation decks.
How is Opportunity Day different from a company's annual filing?+
A filing is drafted, reviewed and signed and need not answer questions the company would rather avoid; at Opportunity Day management answers in the room, on the record, sometimes with figures or guidance that appear in no document.
Can I quote an AI transcript of an Opportunity Day session?+
Treat it as a lead, not a citation. Ticker names, accounting terms and numeric units are the usual errors; listen to that minute of the recording before quoting it.
